Training of Trainers (ToT) Under The Project Strengthening Community-based Dispute Resolution Mechanisms and Improving Gender-just Access to Justice in Bangladesh

Nagorik Uddyog successfully conducted a four-day residential Training of Trainers (ToT) on
Mediation, Restorative Justice (RJ) Principles, Fundamental Rights, CSCT, and Advocacy from
4 - 7 January 2026 at Gono Kallayan Trust, Manikganj.

Under the Access to Justice Project, 35
project staff members participated in this intensive, hands-on training aimed at strengthening
their practical skills in community mediation, RJ practices, legal rights awareness, and advocacy,
with a strong focus on inclusive and gender-just access to justice.

This training will enhance the capacity of frontline staff

Capacity building training under access to justice projectThe training was designed to enhance the capacity of frontline staff who play a key role in
complaint registration, organizing community mediation and restorative justice sessions with
the engagement of RJMF members, and providing legal counseling and other community-based
support. Participants gained practical knowledge and tools to improve their effectiveness in
delivering justice services at the community level.

To ensure sustained impact, ongoing supervision and technical support will continue through
Area Coordinators, Program Officers, and the Nagorik Uddyog project team. The project
management team remains committed to further strengthening participants’ understanding,
skills, and efficiency through continued guidance and follow up support.

Through this initiative, Nagorik Uddyog reaffirms its commitment to building strong, community
based justice mechanisms and promoting inclusive, rights-based access to justice for all.

We were honored by the presence of our Chief Executive, Zakir Hossain, and sincerely grateful
to Dr. Motahar Uddin Akand, master trainer, as well as our head office team, for their valuable
facilitation and support. Together, we continue working towards stronger and more responsive
community justice systems.
